Has anyone had any experience with this Snowblower, I'm thinking of buying the 72" model, looks decent a little concerned about the gearbox if it's China built or American made. The Nortrac brand blower is a few hundred dollars cheaper but I know it's china made and parts are concern later down the road.

Thanks in advance
Fred

Nearly all the gearboxes are made in China now, regardless of brand. You do get what you pay for though.

I just bought a woodmaxx flail mower and am happy with it. it seems very well made. customer support was great during the order/shipping process.

Thanks I didn't see that, good info there.

I purchased a WoodMaxx SB-84, it was delivered two weeks ago.

Packaging was a very well made, steel crate, which made transportation home and removal from the truck bed a breeze. It is all assembled and installed now, waiting for the snow. It seems to be well built, I especially like having a replaceable cutting edge. As far as longevity goes, we'll have to wait and see, but I'm confident that if there are any issues they will stand behind their product.

Heads up on the 84", they give you a grade 2 bolt to attach the pto to the gearbox. I haven't used my 84" Woodmaxx more than 10 minutes in light dry powder and in that 10 minutes I have broken two of those PTO bolts. In another discussion I was told there was a typo in the manual and it should be a grade 5. They aren't open on weekends and I am in the middle of a huge snowstorm, so I bought a handful of grade 5's to use so I won't be replacing the bolts every 5 minutes. Hopefully it won't void the warranty. I just cannot see how a grade 2 would be able to withstand the torque of a 50 HP PTO.

I have the SB 60 on a GC2410 tractor-the gear box is indestructible as long as you have the proper shear bolts. Will never wear as long as you have the proper oil. It will out last anyone on this forum and for years to come. Two winters and have not broken a shearbolt yet, I have clogged the chute with watery slush....

I have the 72. Well built unit. No problems so far. 3 years going on 4.

This is my second year using SB60 and it has been virtually trouble free.

SB-84 here too. Noticed the manual said grade 2 also but I also noticed when I got the PTO shaft that the shear bolt installed in it was a grade 5. I had already confirmed with WoodMaxx that I would need grade 5 based on having 44 PTO HP anyway.
