The easy way to install end posts is to use the bucket of your tractor to drive them into the ground. I use a pike to make a pilot hole and then the back center of the bucket to bang them into the clay. Loading the bucket with dirt will speed the process. I have a post hole digger, but would never go to the effort of putting that finger buster on for just a few holes. Dave

Dave, that sounds like a fine idea if you have soft enough ground and a big enough tractor./w3tcompact/icons/laugh.gif I've tried that, and in my clay, even with little t-posts, all you do is pick up the front wheels on the tractor./w3tcompact/icons/frown.gif

Bird. I also have a heavy clay soil and my Ford 1710 isn't very big. Setting the bucket on the post and trying to push it in doesn't work. What I do is position the post in the pilot hole then get the get the bucket located and slam it like a pile driver. I tilt the bucket up so that the force falls on the heavier back portion . I have not damaged anything using this procedure. Dave.

Dave, I guess your 1710 loader will drop faster than my Kubota loaders because I couldn't get it to hit hard enough to do any good; won't come down fast enough.
