Backhoe Woods BH80x or Kubota BH77?

Just as easy if not easier you basically do the same thing except you don't have to lift the bottom up out of that notch, you just get the weight off the top pins and pull them out then the whole thing will drop right down out of the subframe. The pins are really large bolts with castle nut and pin.

Nice!
So Woods offers different sub-frames for different tractors, so installation is just bolt-on?

You get the subframe for your model tractor yes. The subframe is permanently installed to the tractor, bolted in place. Then there is a short section of frame that mounts on the backhoe assembly, this short section is permanently mounted to the hoe, the 2 sections then pin together. By the look of your video the Woods will likely stick out a little farther back than the Kubota. On mine I sit just behind the rops but that may vary with models I have a kioti and the Wood's 90x

Good to know! Thanks.
I am slightly leaning towards the Woods 80X, except if I can get the BH77 cheaper.

I don't know where you are located but I found mine through eBay from a place called Rosseels Farm and garden in lower Michigan. I was able to buy it and have it shipped cheaper than any local dealers pricing. I installed myself and you can get any color, bucket size, tractor model etc.

Luckily I don't live far from them. I will sure give them a call once its time. Thanks.

Sorry to hi-jack the thread but this is one of the newest topics on the Wood's hoe's. I am considering buying one and wondering if it is worth the money and what the BH80X is capable of? I have a Case DX33 Farmall, its the same as the New Holland TC33DA.

1 - Can it handle smaller tree roots? Maybe with a ripper same larger stuff?
2 - with a thumb can it pick up a decent size log for a nice hovering saw cut, any idea on a weight it can pick up?
3 - Any thing else I should know before picking one up?

It will handle tree roots and dig out stumps if the roots are very large you have to dig further from the stump to break through them sometimes.

I don't have the thumb but I would think it could pick up a log just fine providing it isn't huge, personally I would use my pallet forks for that.

I believe they are worth the money if you often have digging projects or stumps you want gone etc. If you have to hire out that kind of work to someone with a piece of equipment it doesn't take long to spend the money it would otherwise cost to buy a backhoe and you are still stuck without a backhoe and hiring out more work next time.

I've got the 90x and so far am happy I bought it, it makes life much easier and I am actually able to get projects done myself rather than putting it off because I don't have access to a backhoe. I will say if you have any experience running real equipment you will be a little disappointed in these small hoes as they don't have a ton of power, I am an operator for a living and a piece of commercial equipment is far more powerful, but these will get the job done it just sometimes takes a little more time and finesse. Even if they built more power into these little hoes they would have a hard time putting it to the ground due to the tractor being so light and you would run the risk of damaging something easier.

Just to put my 2 cents worth in, I have been looking at a lot of options for my Kubota L3560, from 3pt to subframe, from WoodMax to Woods to Kubota, and finally with all said and done, I just ordered the Kubota BH92 with subframe and hyd. thumb. A lot of money, $12,700, but dealer installed and warrantied, and I have peace of mind. Sure I would have loved to get something for 5 grand, but I also want something that will work well and hopefully for a long time and do the jobs I want it to do. Also, as far as cutting logs for fire wood, I use my pallet forks as well. Very easy and off the ground and easily adjusted to hight.

You should be happy with it, 3pt mounts are a disaster, I saw the damage first hand on my old boss' new Holland 30hp. He got it new with a bush hog 3pt hoe its not a very big unit and has a 12 inch and a 9 inch bucket mainly used for trenching in electrical wires in fairly shallow trenches and that little backhoe broke the top link connection on the tractor after a few years. Sub frame is the only way to go
