Have you had good luck with these tools? I picked up a cheap Chinese box wrench set a few years back and was very disappointed. The quality of the steel was about what I expected (cheap, but OK for occasional use). The sizes were not correct, however. All of the wrenches were just a little off of the sized that was stamped on them. Most were a bit too large, making them useless on any stubborn nuts, since they'd just slip off or round off the nut. I've never bought anything like them since. Have you noticed anything like this in your experience?

I've found that for that size nuts and bolts, a proper sized adjustable, (Crescent), wrench and a good cheater pipe works as good as anything for the price, $15-$25, and no more than they will be used.

I haven't bought anything else "cheap" that I would recommend. The socket set is the exception rather than the norm.

I wouldn't use any adjustable wrench to remove a nut/bolt fastener set @ over 300 ft. lbs. +++ of torque... you'd strip the fastener or slip and whack/hurt yourself bad... /w3tcompact/icons/blush.gif

John, I see a box that looks an awful lot like my "China" set sitting off to the side in your photo. I think mine actually say they're made by MIT or MET or something like that, but are all stamped CHINA. Not sure if mine would handle a bar that size. /w3tcompact/icons/shocked.gif Are your's the same or of higher quality. That has to be the biggest bar I've ever seen someone use. Hope it was someone pretty small pushing on it. (no slight intended to our littler people)

Yes sir, that is high quality $39. Harbor Freight 3/4" special... with I believe a Craftsman socket on the end...(don't hold me to the Craftsman though...)

I had to buy a 1 11/16" socket from Craftsman, 'cause the set "jumps" over that size... I have since gotten some "Made in Japan" sockets that are fantastic!

(I told one of my best buddies, they are as nice as his Snap-on's... then he wanted to "beat me up"... /w3tcompact/icons/laugh.gif)
