I just bought a used Woods RM550. I will be using it with my 3520 with iMatch. I am trying to find out if I need any kind of mounting kit. Does anyone know? Any feelings on the Woods RM550? Ideas on a fair price for a used but in real good shape unit?
thanks.

You will need a Woods quick hitch adapter to use the I-Match.
I bought a lightly used Woods RD 7200 mower today, and also looked into using I-Match.
Local NH dealer who sells Woods didn't have any idea what I was talking about. He finally found the adapter kit listed in the book after I showed him the info on the Woods web site. List was $126. I don't know if the 550 takes the same kit as mine.

Paid $1400 for the mower BTW. I don't think it had even ten hours on it.

Regards,

Jon

That Woods kit should be good for all Woods RM & RD series mowers. Like I said before, if you wanted to save $100 you could probably use the LandPride Floating Top Link Kit, however, it's not quite as slick as the Woods kit. If you don't mind the extra $100, I would definitely go with the Woods Kit.

By the way, make sure you post pictures of the mower and the kit once you have it. I really want to see one of these kits installed.

By the way, the part number for the Woods RM/RD Quick Hitch Kit is 1005400 and it lists for $126.

I guess I don't quite understand why you want to use I-Match with the Woods RFM, as it is one of the easiest things to hook up. I've got an RD 7200, and it maybe takes me 30 seconds to hook it up. (the PTO takes the longest and nastiest because of the grease.

Sure, I-Match is great for really heavy implements (like a box scraper) that are hard to line up, but it is overkill for a mower.

Just my 2 cents....

Jeff,

The mowers have wheels so they are easier to hook up, however, it's time consuming if you have to remove the iMatch to use the mower and then put it back on for the other implements. If you have an iMatch, it's much easier just to go the extra mile and make everything iMatch compatible. I have done just that and I love it! It's a real time saver.

Neophyte - was your landpride rake Imatch compatable? How did you modify it?
