Woods vs Kubota FEL

Let's muddy the water /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif Have you looked at BushHog brand? I was offered one for quite a bit less but I decided to go with the Kubota. My dad said, "Don't put volkswagon rims on a cadillac just because they might fit." For whatever that's worth /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif I only mention BushHog because my uncle got one for his Kubota and he's very pleased with it. Lots of hours with no problems. If you're a bit skiddish of Woods and on a budget, do some comparison with the other brands. You might be satsified with Woods because you'll always have those "bad" things in the back of your mind.

When I was looking at an L4300 I had the option of either
Woods or Kubota loaders for roughly the same cost. I was
leaning to Woods because of the 4-bar linkage and skid steer
quick-tach mechanism. The 4-bar linkage gives you much
greater roll-back and dump articulation range. And the
quick-tach was a must have for the sake of convenience.
Recently though it seems Kubota has caught up and offers
the quick-tach as an option on some of their loaders. I
don't believe the 4 bar linkage is available. I also
recall the Kubota loaders had greater lift capacities
compared to similar Woods loaders.

I am not certain. It may be Woods on some models, but Kubota
is making this decision. What has been available (at least until
this year) from Kubota was more powerful loaders but without
the 4-bar articulation nor quick-tach.
On a realted issue, does anyone know for certain who makes
the loader on an L48?

I'm sure that the Woods FEL would be fine, but before you buy it I would check resale prices on 2150 with aftermarket loaders. Usually a machine with a standard FEL commands a MUCH higher resale value.
