We are having a little remodeling done and the painter was in to get the walls primed before the cabinets go in. I heard him groaning pretty frequently. Apperently his back was really hurting. I guess he really needed the money. Talk about hard labor! /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif Sometimes being self employed is the best but that day it looked like the pits.

Good for him! I, also being self employed have had to go out and work with my back hurting. Even when I was working for someone else I went to work with my back hurting. It does take a certain type of person to be self employed. You have to stay motivated and not talk yourself into a day off for some frivolity.

One of the other problems with being "self employed" is that the boss can be a jerk! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

That's for sure. If he worker for me I probably would have told him to take a couple of days off. I hate to see a person suffer. Maybe that's why I wouldn't be a good boss. /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif When I used to "work" I used to say if you ain't suffering you ain't workin. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif Come to think of it if you ain't suffering why would anyone pay you to do it? /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif

Exactly my problem. I can't force (pay) someone to do a job I wouldn't do. Therefore a lot of stuff around my house doesn't get done /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I remember a day last year when I had a trailer load of merch coming and my back was killing me. I stopped at Walgreens and got a tube of that capsicum(sic) rub made from hot pepper extract. I put a liberal dose of it on and 15 minutes or so later I didn't feel any heat so I really slathered it on. Then I began to crack a sweat and that stuff really kicked in. I was in agony, the area where I had applied it was on fire. I thought it was going to blister so I attempted to rinse it off to no avail. Finally after an hour or so it began to subside to a tolerable level. Funny thing was that awful burning took my mind off of a back ache. I threw that stuff away!
