A short of entering the Moffat Tunnel in CO last Tuesday on Amtrak. It's 6.2 miles long and takes the train about 10 minutes to get through it. They tell you to stay in your current car until they clear the tunnel. Both times coming and going someone didn't do this and you hear a raised voice train attendant reminding people to stay in their present car.

Hiking with mutts on Sunday, we went to the Quincy mine site since it has a southern exposure and less snow. To our surprise, the incline train was in use that day. The occupants waved at us. Yes, this is quite a hill.

They will be entering the mine shortly. Everyone underground needs them. There tours are really quite good, do recommend them.
