Would a zero turn be faster than a B2601?

I almost immediately took the ROPS off my zero turn, the very low center of gravity and front deck makes it extremely hard to tip, so I see NO need to have it hitting the limbs as I mow around my orchard tree's!

I don't need it or miss it one bit.

I have 3 acres to mow, i use a 60" mid mount mower on my B2601 it takes me about a hour 20 min to mow the yard. I have been told a zero turn could cut that time in half is that true?

When i mow i do not back up i mow at a angle to reduce the wasted time backing up.

Thoughts?
I have a New Holland boomer with a 72" belly mower and just switched to a Cub Cadet Pro-500 z-turn with a 60" deck. I switched because the New Holland is heavy on the lawn and you have to be real carful not to tare up the lawn. That beaning said the boomer is a lot more conferrable to mow with and on my farm lawn was just as fast as the Cub Cadet because my lawn is to rough mowed at top speed with the Z-turn. Just for reference my Boomer is about the size at the Kubota LX2610. My opinion unless time is a major factor or you see lawn damage with the B2601 I would stay with it for the ride comfort.

Bob, We have a B2400 w/ 60" mid mount deck and a ZD18 with a 54" deck. ZD18 blows the 60" deck away, not sure if it cuts the time in half but close. A nice thing is I don't have to keep the deck on the B2400 for the summer and I will always have a back-up unit.

I’m shocked you can mow that fast with the tractor...

Bob,
Right conditions, IMO nothing is faster than a zero turn. Dry ground. Mowing up hill if wet or dew, side slope you may slide sideways. If ground is wet(sponge) you can be spinning on level.

Used most manufactures, doesn't make much difference. Never used a Dixie Chopper, they had tractor thread tires, fastest.

That is what i am thinking after all a Z400 is $6000 plus.

I think i save some time by not backing up at all so i am constantly going forward mowing grass.

I have a few trees and i can't go under them the rops catches even when down. I think a zero turn would have the same issue.
Most zero turns have the mowing deck at the very front of the unit. Allowing you to push the mowing deck under the tree branches, something not possible with a mmm.
