Would a diesel engine out of a 6x4 fit in a 4x2 gator?

I think. The wheel bases are about the same, as the forward rear axle on the 6x4 is up under the seats. The thing you would have trouble with most I think would be getting the drivetrain to match up. Originally turning 4 wheels, now it turns just 2.
