The OP doesn't have to buy the mower. It was left on his property - FREE - FREE - FREE!

well, not exactly. i think i gave the guy 1500 or so to leave behind a 49 oliver, the bush hog, a back blade, and some assorted antique implements. i got 1k for the oliver so i guess i paid 500 for the bush hog and back blade - not too bad.

You got a good price for that Oliver.

it was really cool. i would pick another one up one day when the kids get older and i wouldn’t feel so bad working on it instead of helping out inside. but i would probably do an 8N or something - it was hard to find parts for that Oliver.

Been using one of the KK 5 footers for 30 years with no issues. Never had anything fly up and hit me...just shoots along the ground under the tractor RARELY.

No Loctite on the bolt threads...Never Seez only.

I'd keep it and use it without hesitation...nice gift! Unless of course you have a wad of cash burning a hole in your pocket then spend it.

85 replies on all the precautions someone should use to hook up an old 5’ Chinese brush cutter
Sheesh.....you’d think there was a pandemic and everyone is forced to stay home with nothing to do

FYI - I ran the bushhog today behind my new 3025e and it did great. I appreciate all the help, I used a lot of things I learned in this thread to get it ready.

Very good to hear. If you want it to last, keep it out of the rain. If you must leave it outside, park it over well drained stone or pavement, preferably up on 4 blocks of 6x6 to allow the deck to stay dry underneath.
Rust and abuse ruin brush mowers.
