Has anyone purchased or given this idea a try? The idea seems good?

What about the DM 3 point hitch?

We have the 3 point hitch DR mower and it works ok, but not great. Dropping the wheel into a hole or a rut will shred the line in 2 seconds flat.

I just spoke with Iowa Farm Equipment yesterday about a boom Flail. I also asked about the Peruzzo 3pt trimmers, which I've actually seen used. I would certainly and will likely, purchase one in a year or two. The Peruzzo is hydraulically driven off a PTO pump. It sounds like a bigger way to fail, but in practice, the inertia of the arm was minimal, and it stayed up against the posts very well. The thing I don't like about the Wright version is that it leaves a LOT of grass around the 'off side' of the post. The Peruzzo didn't seem to leave as much.

Both are 'blade' design, which I would recommend over a string trimmer such as the DR version.

I think that a blade would be better than the string.
I put a piece of stainless cable on our DR mower (you put it on, then heat the ends with a torch until they heat and fuse into a little ball) but haven't had a chance to try it yet.

This is fantastic feedback! Is Peruzzo sold anywhere besides Iowa in the US? Their web page does not list find a dealer.

this is what i found from the Iowa company. Is this what you guys had demonstrated or purchased ?

No, the one we have is the DR version which uses belts instead of hydraulics.

That's what I saw, and it did a pretty darn good job. If you can go down both sides of the fence, you won't have much of anything to mess with.
