WWF-Does it cause rust?

I checked out the -20 WWF at Walmart last week, and it was $1.64/gal. We've had temps as low at -25 at my house, and since my truck will be displaced so my new tractor can have a garage space until I build more garage space, then I'm not worried about being out for a couple of hours, even if the WWF would get slushy, as it won't freeze solid.

I also plan on keeping my eye on the RV antifreeze, because at some point, they should have a fire sale on it - they don't like to keep that stuff on the shelves during the spring & summer, and the local Walmart still had a ton of it. If you can use less of it mixed with water than the straight WWF, then for the right price, it may be a better option.

Is not the main goal to add weight?
CaCl2 weighs 13 lbs per imperial gallon.
WWF weighs around 8 lbs.
Put tubes in if you are concerned about rim corrosion.
My 35 year old IH454 has salt water in the rear tires (with tubes) and original rims.

Yep.. lotsa people are afraid of CACL.. And yes.. it does and can corode rims.. to the point of being useless.. however.. this usually takes decades.. for some reason some people have the notion that if you add cacl they will rust out the next morning.

Ditto on the tubes.. if you have good tubes, and take care of leaks appropriatly and wash stuff down after a leak / repair.. then you are good to go.

When i got my 8n, it had quite vintage tires on it.. same with the tubes.. they had cacl in them... rim was in great condition.. 95% or better.. just handling marks from mounting / dismounting..

Same with my 660.. just the hint of pitting at the tire valve hole.. no biggie.. just takes care and maintenance..
