I knew that this was an old post. I found it by searching "X540 PTO clutch". Just in case someone else looks for the same.
Four years later, the X540 still has a carburetor. The dealer claims that the PTO clutch itself has improved. Few problems are being reported. None that relate to engine stalling during engagement.
