X729 or X749

When i realizedi could get away from garden tractors into real tractors for less money i made the switch over and haven't looked back since.;)

I know one thing you are on every freaking Deere 700 series thread it seems talking about your Kubota BX1500s' with 11 pto hp. I can't see how you haven't looked back.

I like Kubota BX 1500's my sister has a nice one, good little machine just slow mowing imo.

LBrown just doesn't like the x700 series Deere and instead has to have three Kubota subcompacts instead. His setup has some advantages if your slopes aren't to steep and you have a separate garage to store them all in. For me I only want to have one machine this size to do everything I need to do.

I think he's still trying to convince himself he really needed three if he same kind.

I haven't been on this forum for a while, hoped that the moderators would finally realize when a troll has been disturbing the forum too much and put it to an end.

Here is a link to a current running thread where a member is trying to find a way to till two inches deep with his BX1500.

http://www.tractorbynet.com/forums/kubota-lawn-garden/231479-i-have-kubota-1500-i.html

By contrast I used my x749 yesterday afternoon to till my neighbors garden using my 60" Howard Rotovator. Tilled it about six inches deep in one pass, a twenty minute free job for the neighbor.

As of this post no words of wisdom from L Brown helping this guy out.

I am currenlty looking at purchasing a X729 or a X749. I will primarily be using this garden tractor for mowing and blowing snow, so I don't see any need to go with a 2305. I have appoximately 5 acres of land and will be mowing about 1 acre of it. There are a lot of trees, hills and obstacles so I know I want the AWS. Also, the driveway is a little over 500 feet long with a lot of bends & turns and a steep hill. Could anyone tell me if the diesel is worth the extra money? I am mostly concerned about blowing snow. I live in Niorthern Michigan and we get a lot of snow. Does the torque offered by the diesel engine make a big difference? Also, does the diesel have a much better resale value when compared to the gas engine. The gas engine is rated at a higher horsepower (27 hp for the gas vs 24 hp for the diesel) and the gas engine is $1000 less than the diesel engine. Any input or experience with these would be greatly appreciated.

I have had the X729 Kaw gas engine since 2011 and have approximately the same setup that you do with the long driveway (62" mower-48" single stage blower) I had an X728 before this tractor and without the 4WS, if I slipped off of the edge of the paved driveway while blowing, I had trouble getting back on the driveway without help. 4WS solved that problem. I can tell you that my tractor has PLENTY of power with the gas engine. I can tell you that I do not like the chip or whatever controls this engine because with the engine at idle, I can kill the engine by starting out quickly. It's not a lack of power or torque, it's the electronics that keep the engine running. Other then that, I like my X729.

I hope that helps.

You do realize that this guys post is 5 years old, I doubt that he is still "looking" for a tractor.
