Have you worked w/ your tractor since you returned ?

Chiefcook how many hours do you have on your tractor? Also did you have any oil leaking? What year was yours?

It is a 2017 and only have about 40 hrs on it. There were no oil leaks. I used it for about 4 hrs today. Could not tell any difference.

From what I have seen, FEL use exacerbates the leak. If you do not have an FEL, it may never leak. People that use the loader hard can have a pretty severe leak or there have been stories if engine block cracks.
Even if your machine is not leaking yet, get it fixed ASAP.

If you are working a field for planting, then this is your tool (LS tractor). If really in need then lay out your plan.

We use ours (weather permitting) once a wk. We never lend it. We have pushed & pulled trees off the street just after they blew over. Our street is a major route for first responders.
We also help out some that are in actual need of tractor work. Mostly it has been storm damage (clean up). Not everyone is insured, etc. I work the chain saw, wife works the tractor.

Cannot imagine it would take that long 7wks. But it is my understanding. The R&R of the motor needs to be done by their rules.
Inspection of the offending/damaged area(s). Perhaps this is after the motor is out of the frame & sitting there....all naked & leaking oil from the crack.
Now I'm getting depressed thinking about what has to happen to it.

Maybe there needs to be a stress management seminar for all of the poor emotionally drained/damaged owners....perhaps a fishing trip....sure feeling better already.

Wow, that seems very long. My G3038H was recalled with all the rest a couple of years ago due to improperly installed pistons - it only affected emissions, not operation. Anyway, LS brought a team to my dealer to do the job, they came and picked up my tractor the day they were ready to do the job. When they did it, they found that one cylinder was scored and the engine needed replacement. My dealer (also a distributor) had an engine in stock and the return of the tractor was only delayed by a day. I lost use for two days instead of one.

I only wish I had more than 772 not just 72 hours on it when I got the new engine. Sigh . . .

Well ours is being swapped out w/ only 200+.
It seemed to run just as it did after the first service, when we moved up in the rpm use.

If you would have had 772 hours, then you'd still have it. This issue has shown up early & that's a good thing.

It sure felt crapy watching it being trailered down the driveway, to the dealership.
Even the wife expressed a loss of a major tool.....lol
