Interesting for sure.

My initial ODB II run indicated 5 codes, yet non were readable. Yesterday that changed to 7 with the 2 readable. Unfortunately, I don’t know if the EGR fail was present before. My first adventure with ODBII reader so basically exploring.

I’m hoping the dealer tech can determine if this is a true error, leading to the problem or some error the ECU is creating. How would I determine which?
Need to find my temp gun and monitor ECU temp.

OK ... a silly question ... have you checked the battery voltage, made sure the hots & grounds are clean/no corrosion/etc. My 4150 was throwing weird unrelated codes & generally acting up in a bunch of different ways, replaced the battery terminals w/milspec terminals new 2/0 welding leads for the battery cables, a new 100 amp fuse to replace the weird multiple metal setup LS had and ran a new Hot to the starter, everything returned to nomal. The grounds are notorious on the LS for corrosion, and the 100 amp main fuse is copper bolted to galvanized? metal sheet bracket with a mild steel bolt.

Nope, not silly

Dealer tech checked & cleaned grounds as did my friend. Friend also topped on battery with distilled water, but it is 5 years old.visually, can’tfind a wire problem.
Yesterday, the tech found a newly release note regarding EGR valve. Looking to replace.

Been awhile, but hopefully finally made some progress.
Tractor back together but only run about 15 min. Then yesterday got to run hard for abit over 2 1/2 hours with the 6 ft rotary mowing some tall, thick, wet stuff in the rain. Pic is one of the easier areas. Didn’t get a pic of the really heavy stuff. We had 1.72 inches rain over night, so much wetter than I like, but a lull tempted me. 5 minutes after I parked back in shed, the sky opened up again.

So what did I do
Removed and cleaned fuel tank as best I could. Not really conducive to to a good cleaning but confident I did good. Although I had purged earlier, it was evident that really wasn’t good enough as the outlet is off the bottom and I could see some debris. This time I washed, flushed, wiped until a micro fiber came back clean.

Replaced the fuel sender. Think tech ordered wrong one as it says cabin and I have the ROPS model. Put it in anyway but gauge till reading Empty.

Removed and cleaned the fuel filter assembly but did not attempt to disassemble. This is the part identified as possibly a problem last tech visit. Part has been on back order 6 weeks, tired of waiting. I did leave the inline filter put in by tech, replaced with new.

As recommended here on TBN i replaced the hand throttle.

Once back together put in 5 gal filtered diesel. Started right up.

Not calling this a definitive fix yet, but darn encouraging. Hope to get chance to run for 4+ hour period.

Glad it's working OK for you now. Just a little more info on hand or foot throttle issues. There have been times that hand or foot throttles have been replaced, even ones that had throttle fault codes, and it did not fix the problem. A bad crank sensor can cause the throttle not to work and can even cause misleading throttle fault codes. A bad crank sensor will usually cause crank sensor codes, (S636 F11 or F2), but not always. There may be no code at all, or false throttle codes ( S29 or S91 codes). The crank sensor and throttles share the same 5 volt power supply and grounds from the ECU, so they can affect each other.

HMMMM ... my xr4150 isn't throwing any codes, but symptoms are the same. At startup, get throttle response from either hand/foot, after running a while at normal operating temps, rpms drop to 1000 and will stall under any load. Any particular ground I should check? Cables have been replaced/Main ground cleaned/Good 12v numbers @ all normal checkpoints. FWIW ... she did run a regen yesterday while I worked through it (grapple & rake moving brush).

To me, mine has always felt like a fuel issue. And everything I did is on TBN. Initially, I’d get a lot of stalling once it went into limp mode. Never, ever got a code on the dash. Only codes were on code reader, either mine or dealer tech. After the last tech fix, where he bypassed the fuel filter the issue changed a bit, into limp more but no stall. Could be I just didn’t run long enough, but at that point just didn’t care as it meant still broken. And I never put reader on for a code. Dealer had the filter assembly on order (still on backorder). So I ordered the hand throttle. And decided instead of extending the wait decided to act.
Was the filter assembly fouled? i think so. Did tank have debris? Yes, some. It cannot be throughly cleaned without removing. Was hand throttle broken? Don’t know as I don’t know how to test. Which of my actions resulted in tractor finally running, don’t really know, but will be running it hard when I can before I let dealer off the hook. I or dealer tech did all the electrical checks, grounding, regens as you mentioned to no avail.
