2x4 in Canada $13.30! A few years ago, supply and demand meant if there was a demand, the price went down....not any more though! This radical pricing is the brain child of BIG business. No wonder COVID has become politicized!

Lumber is falling.

PPI rose 7.8% in July year-over-year. Wholesaler inflation.

Either the wholesalers eat that price increase () or the consumer will pay shortly.

went to Home depot yesterday. A rack of cedar 2x12 8 feet long was $59.95. a close look was all the 2x12's were 2 2x6 glued together.

Commodity lumber closed at 49c/BF today, the lowest it's been in over a year. Interestingly lumber for May 2022 delivery is still over $.60/BF.

A sheet of Advantech at Lowes is still over $80. But it was $106 a month ago.

7/16 OSB at HD is down to 22.25. If it drops another 40-50% that should be enough to keep the housing market going, while also keeping enough so that mills and producers can make a little profit.
