Len, that person contacted us BEFORE buying and we told him it wasn't a Yanmar. You can lead a horse to water, but you can't make him believe it's really water. I often wonder why people ask a question when they aren't prepared to accept an answer.
Paint--I'm sure different folks have different preferences. I don't know why you would paint a tractor that looks good, or increase the customer's costs unnecessarily. Perhaps the folks who choose to do so don't have units that look as good as the ones we see. My comment above re: paint was SPECIFICALLY regarding one outfit, taking poor quality tractors through VietNam, and giving them essentially a cosmetic-only reconditioning and paint job. In this market, in general, having ALL units painted meant this quality of tractor, in my opinion. I stand by that. Does it mean some repaints are not mechanically good, or that no non-repaints are mechanically bad? Of course not. But the odds are.........
Now...you say "lotsa folks that don't do a thing to them." I assume you cannot be talking about importers, because if an importer did nothing to the tractors, they would be sold in pieces from the container. I am not aware of anyone doing that. Are you? There are clearly some who don't do much in the way of repairs or mechanical intervention, but I still think the initial quality of the unit is a bigger factor than the work done on them. And units that are initially the best quality GENERALLY are not in need of paint. Hank, you got a pretty tractor. Would you have wanted it painted, at in increase in your price? Or even at the same price? How about anyone else who bought from us? Jeff? Tractor pictured has repainted rims and nothing else painted. Nothing. Yours, I think, Hank.
I'm done. Enjoy. Peace to all.
