i can tell my govenor works. it cant hold your rpms in thick stuff though but you can tell its there.

Winston you mean that if he uses the foot throttle whats the point that he could just press harder?? Carey point was use your foot to hold steady and see if the Gov picks it up that way just to eliminate the throttle vibrating down.

You probably understood this and just the way i read what you wrote or that he maybe PMd you and i did not get the whole story you responded too?

I am saying if he presses down on the throttle for more rpm and the tractor still bogs down then the governor can't keep it from bogging down either. Carey's thought makes sense also just to confirm the governor is reacting.

Winston1 yes it puffs a smoke cloud when throttled up. But when the rpms drop under load whether using the hand throttle or foot throttle it doesnt regain rpms til the load is gone. But if u step on the throttle or pull the hand throttle it will pick up rpms. But if i dont feed it more throttle it wont pick up on its own. How many rpms should it take to kick the governer in?

I don't have an answer for you. I wish I still had my 2002D so I could experiment with it watching governor and rpm.

If it doesn't pick up rpms until load is gone the load is evidently to much for your rated hp.

Bottom line for what I am hearing is just use the foot throttle when load starts to drop rpm. If she don't pick up then grab a lower gear or whatever required to maintain rpms.

yes it puffs a smoke cloud when throttled up. Black smoke?

Not real sure if what i got going on is understood here. It cant be just to much load for the rated HP if it will pick up rpms if i adjust throttle myself. I just would think 200 rpm drop would be enough to kick the governer in to open up. Guess ill have to wait til the manual comes in the mail to further investigate

Hope the manual helps you. I have rambled enough here and haven't aided you any. :confused3:

Plenty helpful the winston1 and i appreciate it very much. From what im gathering is that the governer maybe messed up. But have not had anyone that knows what the rpm drop should be before it kicks in. Or maybe 2-300 rpms isnt enough to cuase it to kick in
