OK, found some details.

The New Holland older series like the Super Hayliner 68 can be driven by 17Hp PTO. It does 70-stokes/min. It's very popular with the Ford N (9N-2N-8N-NAA) series tractors. Here is a link to a few of the balers these can use. Likewise those should work for you too.

Also, some of the square balers out there have an independent small diesel engine on them, thus if your tractor isn't robust enough to run the baler via the PTO, then the baler's own engine can. Of course, these balers cost a bit more.

I could be wrong but all the New Holland balers I've baled with have an over running clutch in the flywheel area. There is no need to buy a separate one.

You're correct. The ORC has to be on the baler to protect the pto shaft and the tractor transmission while the baler flywheel is spinning down. The slip clutch is needed in case something jams in the baler (the pickup, the packer, and/or the plunger). If you're buying an old baler, it's smart to rebuild and readjust the slip clutch and to check the ORC to be sure it's not busted or worn out.

You don't need a slip clutch on the old balers... They are "shear pin" protected! If the baler jams, the pin shears...

At least that's the way every old NH baler I've owned or ran worked!
