yanmar charging

I have a takeuchi mini excavator with a Yanmar (3TNA72E) motor. It currently has a generator with a regulator, I would like to switch to a 1 wire alt. has anyone done this? If so what alt. did you use? any help would be great.

Not much help here but curious. I am thinking maybe you have a dynamo and a rectifier that converts to dc voltage. I converted my old Yanmar tractor from a dynamo to an alternator. Very hard to find room for it even though I used a very small alternator. This one. denso mini alternator 8162 | eBay

I used the same alternator on both my fx-28's. they fit perfect only mode was a 1/2" spacer on the top mount. Works great.

Thanks for the info, I bought one yesterday at a local alt. shop and I,m pretty sure that's the one I bought, the denso mini. Its going to be nice to get rid of alot of my cobbled up wiring. Now to get the rear cover off to get at the engine! Thanks again.
