Yanmar 2310D
I just bought a new (to me) Yanmar 2310D that is a fresh bright Yan-Deere green and yellow. I suspect that this was not the original paint scheme based on the pictures I've seen of the Yanmars on this site. No thing to me and my wife thinks it's beautiful but I am curious. What's your colors? Great site and I expect to learn alot about my tractor from you guys. Darrell

Darrell, the color won't make a bit of difference, and congratulations on a nice model of tractor. Yanmar didn't paint it; probably the dealer did. There are a few dealers who re-paint the Yanmars in JD colors. Best we have been able to figure is that they do this because they figure that the JD/Yanmar connection makes this a reasonable thing to do. Maybe it is a saleability thing. I have noticed that these dealers often try to play up the JD/Yanmar connection in a direction that emphasizes the JD side. My personal opinion is that these dealers are missing the point, but the color won't hurt your machine. Yanmar did make complete tractors for JD in the 80s and early 1990s, though recently they are only providing subassemblies to the JD compact line.

My YM336D has yellow turf wheels on it from a JD1050.....My wife thinks it looks silly....Yanmar red with yellow wheels. Nobody is going to loose it in the field, that's for sure.

The Yanmars that have been repainted John Deere Green and Yellow seem to be mostly in the North West. Is there a big Canadian company that imposts them, reconditions them and then gives them new colors? Older Yanmars were light green then Yanmar did some market research and changed to red and cream. In some cases the red fades over time to a redish orange. There are some who would want to restore their tractor to its original factory colors and others who are just happy that the tin isn't rusting. Enjoy your new tractor.

"Best used" out of Canada and thier dealer network use the JD paint scheme. I was looking at a site awhile back and noticed a dealer that had been using the JD green and yellow and was changing the shade of green and announcing it on thier website. I wonder if someone gave them a call?

I agree with you Roger. Most folks miss that some JD's are Yanmars, not the other way around.

We're in the southeast and paint a lot of a lot of the tractors that we sell.It seems that some of the best ones look really bad.We have painted many of them JD green for several reasons.Usually if a customer buys the tractor before it is painted and has the choice of colors, they choose the JD colors. The JD paint is also very good quality, easy to use and inexpensive. We use Massey red on the others and it really is a good match.Personally,I think they look mighty pretty in either color.

There is a dealer in my area that sells the Best Used Tractors out of Canada. They look nice but are horrifically expensive. They advertise a 1401D with a new Allied loader for $8595. Looks nice but my God I've seen ads around here for a new Kubota with a loader for about $10k.
