Yanmar Engines in LS Tractors?

And of course, John Deere. Most of their CUTs have Yanmar engines. Smallest ones have often been entirely built by Yanmar. Lots of the diesels show up in grounds care equipment and Gators.

I did a search for Yanmar on Craigslist and in the results were LS sub compact tractors. I knew Yanmar supplied engines for John Deere but I didn't know they were an engine supplier for other brands as well.

Does Yanmar supply engines for any other tractor companies besides John Deere and LS?

I have a 55 HP TYM (T554) with a Yanmar engine.

Just saw the Rural King is now selling their own tractors. Made by TYM with Yanmar engines. Prices look pretty reasonable with few frills and an 8 year/3000 hour powertrain warranty.

That's interesting. Yanmar makes a heck of a good Diesel engine so these LS's and TYM's should run as long as any John Deere, which also have Yanmar engines.

I read in some of the Yamar tractor literature that Yanmar manufactures all major parts for their tractors in Yanmar owned factories. They call it Performance Link Technology and claims to be the only tractor company doing this. Coming from the world of successful outsourcing this is nice but not a big deal. Parts can fail or last forever regardless of who makes them. Just have spares and a good QC department.

I love my Yanmar 424 and bought it based on their years of experience making great machines.

Agreed. I have experience in the marine industry where Yanmar diesels are very well respected. There's a quote on here of a mariner who sailed around the world with his Yanmar equipped sailboat; 7500hrs and it'd never seen a wrench other than routine preventative maintenance.
