I have a yanmar ym 2000 that will not start with out the help of ether. I am afraid that there is major damage to the engine. Let me give you alittle background on what has happend. This spring I was at the neighbors house doing some tilling for his garden and I was working the tractor hard. the tractor began to bog down and lose power and would not turn the pto. I had the throttle in high and she blows black smoke. I gave up on the tilling and drove the tractor home as it was dark. the next morning I went out tho check the tractor out to see what he problem was, I thought maybe there was a build up of weeds in the tiller. that was not the case so I started the tractor. the tractor started but the lack of power contuid when the pto was engaged, I tilled about 5' and the trator died under load. I started the tractor up again and the problem worstened until the tractor would not drive but die and then not start at all. There tractor set 100' from the shop dead. I checked the fuel fillter it looked good but I changed it any way. that did not help. tractor would turn over but would not fire. I had the wife with the help of the 4 x 4 tow the tractor to the shop and there it has set. I have tinkered with it off and on this summer to no avail, I had a friend tell me to use a little ether to try to start it. He said if it started the rings are bad, low compression. The tractor runs but sounds bad more knocking than normal, tons of white smoke on idle black smoke on high throdlle, the motor seems to get hotter than normal, I have bleeded the injectors. I need help and dont know were to start. thanks for any help.
