Yannyman,

Gary Jamieson saw the pics of the pulley that was angled and said it was normal....maybe it was like this on the earlier models. Interesting that your ym deck has a lot in common but also has other things that are different from mine.
I remember reading in a forum that who ever made the Case decks during this period also made the yanmar decks.....I have been scouting Case decks to see if I found any that matched up to mine.....have seen some that were close....

Just tried my other PTO. Its not working either.... I smell a rebuild coming my way....

Since Gary told me there was nothing wrong with my PTO electrical end, contrary to my POS ohm meter, I hooked up all the wires on the tractor the way the other two I own are at the PTO switch and figured that would do it. It didn't... Still no power at the PTO. The wiring is an absolute mess from the alternator to the dash board, everything has been messed with. I couldn't see it when I bought it because it was all wrapped up in tape or the factory loom.

So, I just took my original tractor that had all the PTO and mower deck parts removed when it was still relatively new and untouched and bolted the PTO driveshaft and PTO to it and hooked it up. Workes perfectly. Now all I have to do is get the deck stuff under and on and I'll be mowing again!

Mowed with her Friday, grass was 12" tall in some spots. She mowed everything in her path down! Amazing what new blades and a good PTO will do. She never even slowed down once!

The deck does have a very nice cut and it should be a good summer using the big 60". The only thing thta is tough is the wheels are in a set position, so turning can really mark up soft soil. But I am just as impressed as I was last year. I love how fast my lawn gets cut!

Finally got the deck back together today....replaced bearing both sides and had to replace the center spindle....was the old aluminum type and it had broken....Gary helped me out on the center spindle....ended up replacing all the pulleys ...previous owner had replaced them with incorrect size pulleys and the center spindle was over heating.....bought used pulleys that were the correct size and she is purring.....matter of fact I was mowing today....flipped the switch to start the pto and had to look down to make sure the deck was working...it was so quiet.....can not believe how much better it is working.....

Sweet. Glad you got it rolling again. It is amazing how quiet the decks are when they're set up correctly.

Well, you just made me aware of something I didn't pay attention to till now! The BM48 mower had the tube type front bar on them with the tensioner underneath and slightly to the right, while the YCM decks had the sheetmetal box under the "bumper" (see pics) with the tensioner on the left (facing) side of the box. Totally different, but they do the same thing. I always thought it was the same, just the sheetmetal box was missing from the BM tractor.

It looks liek maybe your factory tensioner snapped off? Hard to tell from the pic.

BTW, looking at the new pics, I believe you have the YCM 60" deck judging by how far it sticks out of the machine. You better measure that thing!

If you could take pics of the way your YCM 60 deck is mounted to your tractor it would be appreciated. Mine looks slightly different. IMG_1963.JPG
my mower deck now looks like this IMG_1967.JPGIMG_1965.JPG
