I am considering buying a 6" Bush Hog Finish mower and was asked the question: What is your PTO HP? I don't know and I can't seem to find out online so for you guys that are experts on my model, What is the PTO HP? I am under the impression it is 25 HP on the motor but have seen online it is actually 27 HP so what is both the Motor and the PTO HP's?? Thanks for all your help I will write this down.

A quick google and it sounds like the first two digits are the PTO HP.

So 22 HP at the PTO.

Tractor Data does list the engine HP as 27.

Sounds about right, anyway.

Here's a chart from Woods. Lower number is "This works", higher number is max for the gearbox.

Now, grass down your way and grass up here are very different beasts. It wouldn't surprise me if your dealer wants you to have some extra on tap for dealing with the fast growing stuff you have down there.

Thanks for your reply The Mad One!!! Yes I am sure they would prefer me to have some extra and I might have to consider that myself. My yard is fairly level so it would be just a matter of pulling the beast as long as I do not allow it to grow too thick. I do not have any elevations to climb just have a big yard about 10 acres worth. I am currently mowing with a 5' Bush Hog finish mower but it is beginning to cause me some problems. But I have been mowing with it for about 5 years+ now and I bought it 2nd hand. Thanks for your information!!!!
