No just one piece of equipment with me right now. 8-10 GPh, I wish. My 140 horsepower Fecon 140-148 burn 7-9 GPH. This is 305 horsepower. They did not put a 126 gallon fuel tank on it to run two days. The job that I am on looks like a brush job but it has a lot of tops and blowdown that I am having to process into the soil.

Not to change the subject but what are you running.

Willie,
Keep that big ugly brute away from my big ugly princess. All we need is a couple more 148s running around that we have to find work for!

bh 350. are you sure your burning gallons.it only 190 .pretty expensive

You must be mowing blackberries. I see no way how I could manage 425 horsepower to only burn 10 gph. The stuff I find myself in all the time I can burn 75 gallon a per day in the 140 and 148! That requires a 10 hour day but that is just a good start for me most days.

Just a little not to all of my illegal dumping friends. Your old tires do not belong out in the woods. You are a donkey, I hate you and you owe me $400 for the hour I wasted digging your tire out of my head today!

I run mine at 100% all the time, I charge accordingly and I don't want to be accused of not providing what I'm selling. If the machine burns that little at 2000 I may just run it around there and charge accordingly I guess.

My point was that I am cutting easy stuff! There is nothing really hard that drags the machine down. 99 percent of what I am cutting is dead or down. I do not recommend running the machine at less than full rpm. By doing this your pumps are spinning slower and not giving your hydraulic components they need. Since my machine is cooled by a hydraulic fan motor I will always run full rpm. The engine will only make the amount of horsepower that it needs. If you look at your pressure gauge the pressure is very low while the head is spinning free, once you put a load on it it goes up. SMe with the engine, just running with no load does not use that much more fuel than slowing the engine down. Our engines are made to run at a certain speed, there where a lot of guys a whole lot smarter than me that designed those babies.
