Yet another use for the FEL

Breaking a tire bead can be done many ways. Before the bucket method he tractor method. I used a heave 2x6 usually oak if possible. set the tire flat on the ground, and lay the plank on it like a ramp. Have the wood just barely on the rim edge. and then drive a truck's front wheel up it like a ramp. Almost to the top. set the brake and in park and get out. Take a sledge and lightly hit the end of the plank till it goes off the rim and fully sits on the tire. This usually breakes it right down. Of coerce the bucket method is faster.

Couch labeled "early matrimonial" by wife, 35+ yrs old and beat, and a sleeper so prob. 200#. Sore back on me. Got a couple of young fellows to get it out of the house, then forks to the back yard, and NH to disassemble. Metal to the scrapyard, upholstery to the dump. Back doesn't hurt.

OK one more. Got stuck last weekend. Front tires down in small rainy weather creek. 4WD no help here. Muddy enough for front tire to sink in and rears slipping on side of bank (yes I shouldn't have been there.) Was using a hand cable winch to tree with little success. Decided I could use FEL to lift front wheels and put someting like a sheet of plywood under front wheels. Once wheels up I Decided to see what might happen if I tried to back-up. It worked. Bottom of FEL acted like snow board floating on the mud, in combination with FEL transferring weight to rear wheels I backed out with ease. Love that FEL

You can also do as you did with the bucket fully in the "dump" mode. and set it down and apply some pressure to it and then in low gear back up at the same time curling the bucket in the scoop mode. It takes practice and is slow. but you push yourself right out.
Ive used the method you used when I blew a front tire. Put the weight on the bucket, and wend backwards and used the individual brakes to steer.Alos an interesting feeling. even tho the steering wheel wouldnt effect the way the tractor went, I still found myself turning the wheel.
Much like how you can see yourself "lean" your body when your close to going over. Like your personal weight is gonna make a difference. LOL Must be from that snowmobiling.

Could somebody tell me how the boom poles are attached to the bucket or how you jury rig one to do so ?
Here's the simplest version of a temporary boom pole.

I reached in through a shed door to lift this cabinet off a larger one. It weighs twice what it looks and was too large to get my arms around.

The loader and jury-rigged boom pole made taking it down and transporting it effortless.
