My ppor wife is deathly afraid of mice and we live in the country LOL we get a few of them in the house usually fall and winter when they are looking to get warm.

her reactions are quite entertaining:D:laughing::thumbsup:

HaHa!! My wife has poor self-preservation instincts because the only injuries she's had were from getting away from an itty bitty mouse

Several years ago we were having rat problems on the farm. One day when I was working I spotted something out of the corner of my eye and turned to look. A weasel had darted across the road and went into one of the rat holes under the building. A minute or so later it reappeared with a young rat in it's mouth. 3-4 minutes later it came back and did the same thing again. All-in-all I think I saw it make 4 or 5 trips that day. Ever since then, weasels have been much higher on my list of good critters and I smile when I have the opportunity to see one.:thumbsup:

Not sure I'd really want one in the house, but unless you have pet birds, mice, or rats (small pets he might eat), I'd consider him a blessing and leave him be. The only way he's going to run across you while you're sleeping is if he's chasing a mouse and it runs across you.:laughing: With him present, you aren't going to be seeing any mice this year and there isn't a cat alive that can compete with him as a mouser or ratter.:thumbsup::thumbsup:

Thanks whistlepig.....will no doubt be a sleepless one tonight:confused2:. We do have our sessions with mice from time to time....usually trap 3 or 4 then wait till the next year and do it all over again . The wife is a little less than pleased after I filled her in on todays encounter...:mad:

Yeah.... ahh... about women and animals that are not pets in the house.....

Best too not say anything until after the problem is corrected, and depending on the problem, you may just want to keep that to yourself.

Agree with all the comments about Weasels. Hopefully it wasn't a young rat.

Definitely not a rat.....from tip of nose to tip of furry tail was nearly 12 inches. I am satisfied that it is either a Weasel or Mink......maybe satisfied is not the word I am looking for...:(

That's too small for a mink but it is the size of a weasel. If it was a weasel you might smell it's musky order too, especially if you scared it.

We have a small black mink that we see around once and a while, keeps the mice and rats down, but they can play **** in a chicken house.
