YM 220D - Info please

I'm in process of learning about this tractor as I've found one for sale that looks pretty nice. It's a YM220D, 500 hours, looks real nice, runs good, has a good 5ft cutter, finishing mower and scraper blade - which is exactly what I need for my 5 acres. The price is $5500. I'm not certain if this is a grey market tractor and/or if this is a fair price. Any feedback about this particular tractor - things to be wary of - whether this sounds like a decent price, etc. would be much appreciated.

First, welcome to TBN! Please fill in your profile so we know more about you. Location is important, particularly as it relates to the question you are asking about tractor pricing.

The YM220D is NOT a grey market tractor. The YM220D was built for the US. It is a very solid tractor, and is the normal gear shift tranny counterpart of the more popular YM226D power-shift tranny tractor. Parts are still available from any authorized Yanmar dealer.

$5500 is probably a good price. If the attachments are in very good condition, then it is a very good price. Depending on brand of the attachments in good condition: Used cutter $300-500, used finish mower $400-1000, blade $100.

sounds good to me,
is it blowing lots of smoke when you start up?
any oil leaks, hydraulic leaks? test 4wd?
maybe just check to see where the closest Yan dealer is, although you can get any part for that mailed to you.

Location? If all is in good or better condition, it's a very good buy imho.

Note--a 5' rotary cutter is larger than we would put on such a unit. I would sell the cutter and get a 4'..the tractor will handle it better.
