Hi all,
Any one have a block heater on their YM 3000??? I need to add one and I'm wondering if there is something special for this or if I should just go out and buy a generic Kim Hotstart in a smaller size and plumb it in. Temps here are getting as low as -10 and although it is in a garage, inside it is seeing around 0 and needs a little help. Thanks,
Chris

Don't forget about the magnetic block heaters. They work very nice and take seconds to put on and take off. You dont have to cut any hoses, you can remove it when it warms up so you don't have wires hanging around, and I think they work just as good as any inline or freeze plug heater.

I don't think the YM3000 has the screw out freeze plug for the YM block heater. I use a heater in the lower radiator hose in that case. There is a better quicker transfer of heat if you are heating the water directly. If it is -10 don't forget to use winter diesel blend or an anti gel additive..

I like the idea of the magnetic block heater. I'm guessing that it might stick to the bottom of the oil pan ( Nice flat area ) and heat the oil VS the coolant. Like the idea that you could just remove by hand in the summer time when not needed and have it out of the way. Thanks for the idea.
