Could be.. hard to say on mine. The hyd lift cover on my 1700 had some 'kustom' work done on it before I got it. I only have the lever on mine.no knob, etc.. though have never changed it, as I don't want to slow the 3pt drop down any.

Here's a pic of my lift cover. There is a big plug in the top.. havn't seen that on the other red/white 1700's I've looked at.. mine is a green one..

Yes I see yours is different than mine. But as long as they work OK, guess it don't really matter.

Isn't that kind of hard on the implements? My 3ph dropped like a rock and slammed the implements to the ground before I found that adjustment. I set it for about a 2 sec. drop.

If you're not carefull...yes, dropping the Implement can cause damage, depending on the;
surface it falls on, the strength(or lack of) the part of the implement that is the weakest,
and so on.
I adjust the "Rate of Drop" when I have the Tiller hooked up. At 540lbs it falls very fast,
even when I try to be carefull. Yet I can leave the setting the same for the other attachments.
They are of about the same weight,to each other,lighter than the Tiller. Lloyd

I never just floor the 3pt lever anyway.. I always just east it down.. but like to leave it adjusted to drop fast so when i boxblade, I can drop the blade quick to scalp areas that I need to flatten. If I had the drop rate retarded.. I'm not sure I would get the same 'ease' of use when blading.. which is about all the tractor did.. untill the 8n and NAA came along..
