Thanks Mark and Dave.
Mark,
The main reason I am getting the tractor is because it will be my main hobby. Now withn that said, the main use for the tractor will be bush hogging. Then making a garden, deer food plots, and last but not least, box blading.
I will be keeping the tractor at my grandmother's house which is about 1/2 mile from my house. That is where most of its life will be spent. (bush hogging 4 or 5 acres and making her a garden.)
I have never had or worked on a diesel engine before, but I do have a couple mechanics that can work on my tractor for me. I've done checked into that before I even buy a tractor. As a matter of fact, the primary mechanic that will be working on my tractor is the same one thats going to build my ROPS and install a seat belt. But thats later on.
I am concentrating on GETTING the tractor now. I've been doing a lot of research on Yanmar tractors for a long time . I think that a Yanmar is a right choice for me. MY MAIN CONCERN IS A GOOD DEALER AND A MODEL WITH GOOD PARTS SUPPORT.
I didn't want to post what I am fixing to say. But, maybe i'll get more results.
I am deciding as far as dealers, it will be either Liberty Tractor in Missisippi, or, as you all know, Hoye Tractor. I have already talked to Mr. Stan with Hoye on the phone. Very very friendly and knowledgeable. Liberty Tractor is ALOT closer to home than Hoye. If Hoye was where Liberty Tractor is, it wouldn't be no question who to buy from. Liberty gives me a 6 month powertrain warranty, whereas Hoye don't give me a (fixed time frame) warranty. From what I have heard about Hoye, you really don't need a warranty because their tractors are top notch! I would like a parts and labor warranty though. Just about everyone around here is telling me to go to Liberty, but I tell myself to go with Hoye. They say, "If something goes wong with your tractor, how are you going to get it taken care of with a dealer that far away from home?" I have no answer to give them. Liberty "reconditions" their tractors at their dealership in Liberty, Mississippi. They put it on a dyno and go from there.
I just don't know what to do. I'm tired of aggravating my self with this. What would you do?
Oh yeah, Liberty has the YM2000 and Hoye has the YM2010.
Help,
Travis
