I'm considering buying a ym2200 from an individual that lives near me. He says it has about 1700 hrs. It was leaking oil at the pto shaft. The tractor looks to be in fair shape. I haven't had a chance to run it yet, but he wants $3500. My questions are: Is the ym2200 a good tractor, are parts easy to find, is that a fair price, is there anything in particular that I should be looking for with this tractor, how hard would that pto seal be to replace?? I know that I'm asking alot, but I would appreciate any help you guys could give. Thanks!!

The aforementioned suppliers will have some parts for the 2200, but they're not as completely supported as most of the newer models from '77 - mid-80's..... that combined with the fact that they're an older model (early '70's), and in our experience more prone to having mechanical issues puts them pretty low on our "desirable model" list.... I'm not saying they're bad... I know some folks running them happily... but $3k for one doesn't sound all that great to me. I also find the operator's platform a little cramped and awkward to get on and off of.
