Hey,

I got the tractor yesterday. Hour meter shows 852 hrs. There is a small hydraulic leak thats coming from this "valve" looking thing under the seat.

When you pick up on the position control lever, It turns a rod that goes under the seat. The rod is connected to linkage, which in turn pushes the "valve" in. When you let the position control lever down, the "valve" comes out.

The "valve" is like a very small "piston" looking mechanism.

Standing from the rear of the tractor, It is directly behind the "spring" that is under the seat. The spring and valve are in the same "line" as the tractor's 3-point hitch "toplink".

The "valve" (that pushes in and out) has a nut or bolt with a rubber gasket in it. The rubber gasket is whats bad. Its almost like the rubber gasket is mounted inside the nut or bolt (which ever it is).

This is very simple to see when you lift the seat up. Is is hard to explain without any pictures though.

I looked at Fredricks' and Hoye's website but couldn't find a picture of what I needed.

Anyone confused yet?

Thanks,
Travis R

P.S.....I really love my tractor. Not because its new, but because its the size I need.

You need to order a parts manual.

I would assume it's leaking where I pointed to in the attached picture. I had a leak there on my YM1700. Simple O-ring fix. That is if the two tractors are made about the same.

Travis, it's not a gasket, it's an oil seal, very common & easy to replace.

Inspector507,
THANKS.

That is EXACTLY the spot where it is coming from. But from the looks of it, I don't believe that its an o-ring. Its more like an "oil seal", like 1danny said. I guess thats one difference between the YM1700 and YM2500.

Danny,
THANKS.

Do you have this "seal" in stock? How difficult is it to replace? Can I just un-screw the bolt/nut and replace the seal inside, or does the new seal already come pressed inside a new nut/bolt?

Will I loose enough hydraulic fluid to have to go out and buy some?

I have a 30 day parts warranty with the tractor (no labor). I'll call the dealer tomorrow and see what he says. If he can't get the seal or doesn't want to warranty it (not wanting to jump the gun), then i'll definitely buy from you Danny because you are the first dealer that replied to my problem.

I will soon get a Service and Parts manual(s) for my tractor.

THANKS VERY MUCH,
Travis R

THIS IS WHAT T.B.N. IS ALL ABOUT.

I have the seal, but you should get your dealer to replace it, and yes you have to remove the old seal and replace it with a new one.

Thanks very much Danny.

By the way, what in the world is that "valve" looking thing called, anyway? I need to know what to tell the dealer the seal is for.

It's most likely oil seal # 194151-45810, $3.66 at Hoye. It appears almost every Yanmar uses the same one.

Hey thanks a lot ya'll. It is truly appreciated. I'm sure it isn't going to be anything to get it fixed.

Thanks again,
Travis
