Anyone know anything about this size Yanmar?

Yanmar tractors are fairly rare in my neighborhood, so when this came up for sale I noticed it. I'm not really looking for another tractor like this but thought others might find it interesting....

First one I have seen. I like the tool box in front of the step. Parts might be hard to come by. A quick scan shows only a starter available.

You think that model is a U.S. or made in Japan version ?

"Zero" parts availability. There are almost NO gray market tractors in that size.

Yep, it's a Grey. I don't know or heard of anyone importing this size greys. It would be a hoss though

I've seen other tractors at this local equipment dealer that aren't typical. I'm curious about the history - how'd it get here, who was using it, and for what. I suspect this dealer buys a lot of stuff at auction as well as sells stuff overseas. I personally couldn't imagine buying it simply because parts would be an issue. Not sure how many other feel this way. I guess I'll see how long it's on the lot.

I actually saw it in person -driving by an couldn't believe my eyes so stopped. The photo is pretty accurate- it doesn't look half bad, I just don't know who would take the parts risk. At least Hoye supports the smaller machines. I don't know what one would do for parts here. Makes me wonder what's going on at the dealership....

Always been stated the reason the big ones don't make it over here is because they take up to much shipping room so profit is lost.

he will probably sell it to someone that has no idea about parts support. They will then come here asking .. LOL

Where's Wayne? He used to howl about the support calls he got for unsupportable or Frankensteinmar models.

That 6000 might be a good buy for an agribusiness concern that already has a dozen tractors, one down wouldn't hurt them. Still, I would line up support from someone familiar with the world market, perhaps a dealer in Australia or someplace who can order and ship factory parts. If that thing is ever down for repairs it will be down for a while.

Next time you get that way stop and get the Eng.# and ask someone a few questions if possible. I guessing it may be a JD. motor. Very possible. It sure would be nice on our WV. property. Which just came up maybe Turbo it. I don't think parts will be all that impossible. Depending who's using it and what they are breaking Hummm....

Len Schaeffer used to always be able to get parts from Japan for any Yanmar. I'm sure they were pricey, though.

The 5000 is in the same boat, bugger all of them around and minimal scrapped so no parts. Even the 4220 and 4320 are probably not much better either.
