York rake hydraulic angle kit

An 8" stroke Prince tie-rod cylinder will fit perfectly. 20 1/4"-28 1/4".

I personally would use a Maxim 3 1/2" dia welded cylinder with a 1 3/4" dia rod. Clean and plenty strong. Bailey part # 288-441

You got it right at 8" stroke!

Is Bailey a supplier? Got a link?

I researched your baileynet.com #288-441 cylinder and came up with a port size of SAE8 which on their port conversion table transed to 3/4"-16 pipe. Is that right? Seems large as other sites for the same sized (3-1/2") cylinder etc. list 1/2" ports. I want to run 3/8" hoses to 1/2" tractor connectors-please advise. Thanks.

3/4-16 is the thread size for SAE8. Just determine what size type fittings are on your hoses and go from there. If your 3/8 hose has a JIC6 female you can buy SAE8 male to JIC6 male.

For your male coupler end, again determine what threads the coupler and hose have and if they are not a match, get the proper adapter.

Pretty common to have one size larger fitting than hose for less restriction.

I personally prefer SAE threads to NPT threads.

SAE8 is for 1/2" line. No problem to run 3/8" hoses.

The job is done and I spent before taxes $186.47 and Woods wanted $461.00. The York rake which I bought gently used had never been rotated off of 90 degrees because when I rotated it full left and right by hand the orange paint on the top plate of the shaft peeled off. Nice to have that hydraulic function control up on the deck and no longer mechanically set by hand on the ground.

Brian,
I had a very short time frame to hook up the York rake, plumb the hydraulics and let 'er swing left to right a few times then place the rake back on the shop dolly and tractor off to one of my neighbors and mow down five acres of Mallow that the horses won't eat. He's a long time roper and recently suffered a violent double back legged horse kick (from his most gentle horse-we think asleep at the time of contact) that put him on crutches and now he, not the gelding is scheduled for surgery.
Finished his cross fenced pastures today-photos of the rake swinging R/L tomorrow if all goes as planned.
