does any one have pics of the guide wheels on a york rake i just bought a new woods rake and the dealer wanted an extra 330.00 for the guide wheels,i gotta be able to make them for less than that

Can you rake branches on a relatively flat landscaped lawn with one of those or will they tear up the lawn?

he should of because he said it with a straight face i thought that was the price for the rake at first,i found some gauge wheels and forks at ag supply for around a hundred bucks

I bought a woods rake last week,and the wheel kit was 250.

Last year I made a set of gauge wheels for my York rake, I also was shocked at the price of wheels. I checked with three different rake makers and the lest expensive set I found was still $250.00.

The set I made cost me around $90.00 to make. I purchased some square steel tubing a piece of angle iron and a piece or round steel tubing. I had a length of 1" diameter steel bar stock and a couple of clamp collars from a couple of old weight lifting sets the kids didn't use any more.

I don't have a welder so that set me back $10.00 which was not bad. The price of steel is up these days. The wheels I used were replacement wheels for riding lawn mowers that were sold at a local hardware store.
