Depending on where i put the adjusting pins for the lift arms on my old tc40 it would bind alittle when the lift was at full hight. The way the pins are i could see if they were in a lock position for the lift arms it could bend them when lifting the arms . Just a thought .

I respect your post Brian but I don't think there is anything pot metal on a NH that is structural or carries force. Put a magnet on it and see.

While I agree they take some forces. My MF seems to take the same forces without breaking. It's cheap piece of crappy metal. It's not even steel, it's pot metal of course it's going to break.

Cast stabilizer arm? hmm.. I'd have to see that one for myself.

There's no part of the 3ph on my Class II that a magnet wont stick to. Perhaps this wasn't a NH problem.

I will take a picture tomorrow of the break after I take it apart (it's cold and rainy out today and I'm a wimp). Looks like a cheap metal toy that's broken in half.

Shear patterns in broke metal are one thing.. pot metal accusations are another.. i'd be real surprised if this was an oem part and not steel..

Since reading this thread I figured I would take a look at my stabilizer arms while I was at the farm over the weekend. They do appear to be a cast part to me, metal is different color and texture from any other part on the tractor.

This reminded me of the comment in an earlier post of having a part that would break before damage to the tractor. Makes since to me and sounds like a good idea.

Post a photo.. Having a cast stabilizer arm sounds counter productive.

Sure can do but not for another 2 weeks, I'm planning on heading back up on the 27th. The 3ph stabilizer arms are a bronze or gold color.

Attached is a photo.

Of course, if they made this stronger, something else, something more expensive , would break. People would whine about that. They'd make that part stronger, then something else even more expensive would break. The same people would probably whine about that. Pretty soon, the tractor would be made of titanium, cost a bazillion dollars and people would whine about that. :p
