You don't have to look farther than the Atlantic Coast states - the location of the "Ellicott Rock", GA/NC, makes for interesting reading.
Sometimes in my travels I find those places where 3 states meet. The most recent one last year. View attachment 697516
At least you have that. Mine is “southerly by the land of Smith to a point, thence easterly by the land of Jones to the land of Alias thence northerly along the land of Alias to the town road; thence west along the town road to the point of beginning. Containing 21 acres more or less.” Alias, Smith and Jones have all been dead for 100 years or more.My property is described by the approximate length of the stonewalls on all 4 sides, and the directions they lay in.
No stakes, no gps coordinates, just feet and center of the stone walls.
I hear ya. My house was built in the 1830s, and pre-dates the road by probably 50 years, not to mention much property line shuffling over that time.At least you have that. Been there many times... love that place! We ate a few times in Famous Louise's Rock House Restaurant which is near Linville Falls, NC. Good food and the pies, oh my, the pies....

The restaurant sits in three counties. Burke, Avery, and McDowell. We came in the door in one country, ate in another, and went to the bathroom in a third while never leaving the building.
