20 or so yrs ago when I lived in southern Cali they had 50 yr mortgages, a car loan these days can now run 84+ months. I did the math on how much I I was paying to barrow money even with low interest rates, after years of struggles, luck, and being very fortunate in decisions I've made, and some will say being super cheap, ive concluded yrs ago I'd rather save and put away money for a sometimes extended time, occasionally sell stuff I don't use much anymore so I can pay cash if possible for materialistic things it's rarely the latest or greatest, but I'm not committed making payments to financial institutions for years on end only to repeat when that items paid off. Fully understanding I don't use my sometimes expensive hobbies to make much money (they usually save me some). In my younger years I'd always go the easier instant gratification route taking full advantage of credit offered to me sometimes barely making it paycheck-paycheck and one serious life changing event from losing everything. Yeah I feel old unfortunately I'm not really, minus the generic lipitor staten I now take possibly Lol. drifting self righteous blowhard meme rants over.
