When I went to get my real ID drivers license with the star they would not accept my original notarized birth certificate, said it had to come from the state Bureau of Vital Statistics.

I ran into the same thing. I had what was a notarized photocopy of the original that I'd gotten in the early 70s. Nope, no go. Had to get a new one. Most of the same information (not everything from the old was on the new), but printed on a different form with "security" features.
What was most annoying was I went to my hometown (3 hr away) to get this only to find out I could have gotten a copy from any town clerk in the state...it was all in a database.

Texas didn't wait till the last minute to implement the Real ID. I didn't have any issues when I renewed my Texas DL. Made an appointment online, walked in at the appropriate time with my old DL and passport card, and left shortly after with my DL renewed to a Real ID card. Plenty of document choices to confirm identity and proof of U.S. citizenship.

I was felling a dead Doug fir well over 100’ and 30+” at the stump and didn’t move my saw far enough away
I got extremely fortunate in that it only bent the bar, and cracked the the kick back lever. Replaced the bar and epoxied the lever, all better now! Borrowed my wonderful neighbor’s saw and used a floor jack to remove! Only cost $60.00 for the bar, thought I might have to buy a new saw! Hope you people learned something from this experience!!!

Many years ago my ex's father was doing some clearing with a JD350 loader and put his chain saw on the track while attending to some thing else. Of course he forgot about the saw and ran over it when operating the loader. He went to get the saw a little later and realized what he had done. He caught a glimpse of the saw and dug it out of the mud with a shovel. He wiped off the mud to find it completely undamaged. He was then careful not to make that mistake again.

Over my lifetime I have lost many fuel caps and tools setting them on the tractor tire and forgetting about it....

I'd not be admitting to the "many" scootr! We've all done it once, maybe even twice... but you're supposed to learn to stop putting things on tires after that.

Let me just say more than twice, 3 come to mind... twice the gas cap for my Terex 640. The saddle tank was next to the front tire. Worst part was it was keyed and very unique... $50 dealer only item each time.
The third time was 20" pr of channel locks. Always seems to happen when I am discing so lost items are immediately buried

You sound like my buddy who is retired, but still farming, years ago he was with his tractor out in the disced field and he borrowed two of my wrenches. Within minutes he had lost my two wrenches and his pipe wrench. He found my wrenches, but not his pipe wrench.
