You Know You Are Old When

I was the rare bird who could drink heavily, and never experienced a hangover... until sometime in my mid-40's. But all good things must come to an end, my "older drinking days" have been rougher than my "younger drinking days". :D
I gave up drinking in my mid-30s when I realized how much it was costing me to feel shitty the next morning.

You know you are old when you have to unwrap a strap wound around the mower blades and your first thought is, how am I'm going to get back up. 2nd thought is do I have everything I will need so I won't have to get back up a second time.
Yup
YKYAO when you drop something and it rolls under a cabinet and you spend a minute planning your descent to your knees and your full recovery to vertical.

There are a lot of things you only do when very young and very old, from which you can refrain the 80 years in-between. Daipers come to mind, but needing help with child-proof pill bottles and having someone drive you everywhere are two others. Poor balance is another.
Some might know this already...

Once you get the pill bottle open, and you're sure there aren't going to be children around, just turn the lid over.

When I was in prime drinking form, I never had hangovers, probably because I was rarely sober. :cautious:

Best thing that ever happened to my friends and me was my friends going off to college and moving away after graduation. We were bad influences on each other. ;)

Stopped drinking completely for 25 years. Now I'll have a beer or two with a pizza maybe once a month. Still enjoyable without the consequences.

For me getting up isn't as big a deal as getting down. Turns into kind of a controlled fall.

I was a functional drunk. One of my Dad's best advise was, never let a self inflicted illness keep me from going to work.

I always sat up in bed before I turned the alarm off. Quit drinking 31 years ago. I sure don't miss hangovers.

Looking for a yard stick to scoop it out with...
Still have to get down to ground level. For my shops I keep several of those ~18" magnetic bars for holding tools (that HF used to give away). Great for sweeping under stuff and finding screws etc.
