Worst : 2003 F250 2 wheel drive. Always in the shop.

Best : 1970 F100 2 wheel drive. 275,000 miles and gave it to my brother who had it for 5 years and flogged it to death.

Best is my current 1999 F250 Superduty 7.3 Diesel. Had to order one to get a 6 speed. It has 22,000 miles on it now and will never justify the diesel option financially. Still, no regrets.

Worst by far was a 1984 S10 4x4 with an intermittent engine problem from early on after I ordered it. But it always ran well when at the shop so finally, I told them to drive it for the weekend. It left the mechanic stranded by the road. Yep, ran OK when he got it back to the shop and it never was fixed right. Traded it on an 1987 Ranger and haven't bought A GM anything since.

I should have added the most fun!!!

Most fun for me was a 1950 Chevy That had been cut off behind the cab, dual wheels installed. It was a trailer hauler in its day.
Almost like a mountain goat, would have climbed a tree is it could have gotten traction.
Would go places that a jeep would not even try.

You are averaging less than 2000 per year, curious what you needed the truck for
Best truck was 89 Chevy 1500 280000 miles with no major issues till friend totaled it
Worst was 95 Toyota run great, but rusted better

Don't know that??? But I now average less than 5,000. Haul lots of things & have some of the worst roads you can imagine. Yep its even a 4wd.

Most fun? My 1962 Mercury that I bought in 1974 for $25 to use for a winter car. It was so rusted out around the headlights that if you went faster than 45 mph, the wind would mess with the headlight alignment and you could hardly see the road. Also gave the passenger a shower from the hole in the floorboard going through a deep puddle at about the same speed. Sold it for $25 six months later.

Worst was a 95 s10 that was a great little truck except that it was junk. In the first 20,000 mi They put new lifters, repainted the clear coat, new rear springs, and the antilock brakes locked up in the shop and slid 3 ft, but there was nothing wrong with them. Finely just sold it at a big loss to get rid of it.
My best and most fun was a 79 chevy that I bought new and built the motor when it had 600 miles on it. Had 10" wide TA street tread radials and 12" wide on the back. That thing would fly down the back roads and stick to a road like glue. I never found anyone that could stick with it on the back roads. I went into a Pontiac dealer to test drive a 92 trans am and they test drove my truck. The boy came in and said "Dad you have to get me that truck". Dad shHh him and he said "No dad, You have to get me that truck". He gave me $2000 off the Trans am and gave me More than I had in the truck plus some. I bought the trans am and regretted it the whole time. It was a great car but I wish I still had the truck. Ed

I can't say which is my best... I've had alot I've liked, hard to narrow it down to one.

I had an '86 s10 2wd 4cyl/4 spd, paid little for it, myself and others ran the guts out of it for years and couldn't kill it... on of my buddies used it to haul a 275 gallon water tank (over a ton) to his house on top of a hill... my dad drove it a while... great little truck.

I have (currently in storage) '88 s10 ext cab 2.8 v6/5 spd 4x4, it will go d@mn near anywhere I want it to... needs a clutch, I'm gonna give it to the kids to drive in a few years.

I ran my '84 k30 in the mud a few years, then as a work truck, then back to mud truck again... people knock the ol 6.2l diesels, but I put 40k miles on it with no issues. Beast off road too...

I like all of my superduty based 7.3's, the Excursion has been trouble free for the 50k miles we have put on it, has 292k total. My dually has only needed a transmission shortly after I got it, but having put over 80k miles on it in the past 10 years, no complaints. My f250 is my favorite, despite the current need for a motor, having a 6spd trans, ext cab short bed makes it 'all that' for me.

Worse, a 77 Ford Granada. 302 V8 that wouldn't get out of its own way, let alone the poor build quality. Best truck? Tough call, probably a 98 Dodge Quad Cab 4x4 we bought new. Probably not a great truck compared to what they make now but at the time I really liked it.
