Customers are left with no internet for days as Virgin Media goes down

Virgin Media said problems for people in south-west London had been caused by a cable being accidentally cut in the New Malden area. The firm said it was repairing the damage.

I saw a comment that said when this drill got into a major conduit, it yanked 'miles' of cabling and fiber away from everything it was connected to. And everything had to be re-run to restore service.

That repair will take a lot of people and some time. Imagine how many devices got the connectors ripped out of them when their cable suddenly got sucked away. It's more than just snaking miles of wire or fiber through the maze of conduits out to the end users.
