I've been running my Honda 2000 about once a week lately... Usually, to use my "booster batt charger" to get something started, or to run my electric impact wrench...

I NO LONGER use E fuel in ANY of my small gas motors, so all of my small gas motor carb problems have went away! yeaaaaa!!

I'm happy sticking with E0 only in my small motors.... glad to hear it's working for you too.....

Not impressed with what I keep hearing on the push to E15....

With the current administration don't hold your breath on E15 happening.

That would be great if it never happens, at least on a mass scale.

I got tired of pull starting mine w/ 2 back surgerys in 2 years.. I found a flywheel & starter on ebay for 100.00.. & converted it to an electric start. I jump it from a portable jump box & it works great.. & IF the jump box is weak or dead, I still have the pull start option.. 10hp Tec. engine.

Interesting modification. Was that flywheel/starter a factory option for your particular Tecumseh model, or is it a general-purpose one that you fettled to fit ? If you have the time.... pictures are always welcome here

Estart is a nice option to have, even w/o a bad back.

It was a factory option.. they put that 10hp Tec. in ALOT of snow blowers w/ an electric start.. I just had to find 1..
The EASY part was the starter itself.. IF you use the NEW Tec. # they are expensive.. but I crossed it to the OLD# & found hundreds of NEW reman units for 1/4 of what "new #" costs..
My mdl was a HM100 engine but the flywheel went in HM80-100 & some even had the charging magnets to recharge a battery while running..
I just removed the pull start cover> easy.. removed the nut & flywheel w/ a 20.00 puller I got on-line.. slide the new toothed flywheel on and tightened it up.. The housing needed to be cut alittle to fit the nose cone of the starter.. the hole was there but wasn't quite large enough..
3 minutes w/ a dremel & done.. The block was pre-drilled & tapped for mounting screws & the starter bolted right up..
The MAJOR FACTOR w/ there engines is> the block HAS TO BE already pre drilled & tapped for a starter..

Makes sense..... figured something along those lines...... either that or you had a full machine-shop at home...

Are you a refugee from northern Winters ? Just wondering how a SC guy knows about snowblowers ;)

Never had a Tecumseh, but there were lots of them around. Nice option to charge the battery on-board, hadn't seen those before. Never owned a blower myself, but the ones I'm used to up here have 120Vac starters.... those wouldn't be much use on a generator though :).....

Thanks for the write-up, that would be a useful update for somebody else looking for Estart.

I wanted electric start on a Industrial 14hp Tecumseh OHV motor that I have. Last year I converted it to electric start, it was pretty much just a "bolt on" job.

The motor came off a generator/welder and I'm putting it on a small tractor that I have.
