I need to Fab a cover for my PTO generator. I was thinking maybe a small self supporting tent with the floor cut out. Or maybe run a cord from the tractor to a single stake being the generator, then drape a tarp over the cord?
Anyone cover their PTO generator?

I'd likely go the stake/cord/tarp route..... haven't looked up pto gen specs lately, but would expect them to be all-weather rated. Drier is not a bad thing obviously, and a tarp would also help shield from wind-blown dirt etc....

Easy way to convert Celsius to Fahrenheit, in your head.

EXAMPLE: 13C ....doubled = (26),.... minus 10%,. (26 minus 2.6) = 23,..... add 32 = 55 degrees F.

Works ACCURATELY throughout the scale!

We (country) converted when I was a pup..... I remember doing the ciphering by hand in grade-school.

I've gotten lazy...... I just ball-park the common conversions, or pull up onlineconversion when I need accuracy.... but you're right, the C2F is a easy one.....

Cx2-10%+32= F is exact!

Gave both of my genny's a 20 minute spin today. The 20kw gave me a scare, it was only a loose wire on the fuel solenoid. Don't know how that happened.

The kubota was a little slow, but it's been a month or so. I think I might sell it.

Does the Kubota gen run at 3600 rpm?

I believe it does, although the generator is belt driven off the motor so theres a possibility that it's slower. It is a small 3cyl. I'll have to check the book.

Good example of why (follow up) test runs matter.

Like a boat going through sea-trials, you just finished an extended length "shakedown" run !

We got a good 18-24” snow dump here last week. Haven’t had time to put my genny in that doghouse I bought. Plowed us out, snowblowed paths, made a nice clearing around the genny.

It was under 20*F, drifted right over the unit. I have a makeshift cover on it but it’s not snow right. I brushed it all off, it was a touch slow to crank but it fired right up. Let it run for a good 40 minutes. Good to have it cleared out just in case. Besides, a few warm days followed by cold ones would have made it a block of ice!
