if it means you can run a multiple hvac large home without resorting to load shunting modules,
might pay for itself
efi sounds good though with propane/lng not sure what that gets you other than maybe lower consumption.

Generac is now going to sell a new series 28KW air cooled. new redesigned engine with hydraulic valves, new case, new controller, electronic fuel injection and engine control, built in cellular wifi, oil and gas sensor and monitors

looks like im going to have to learn some new service techniques.....im getting too old for this ****
I've kind of looked a couple of times for a 20-25 kw liquid cooled 1800 rpm lp unit hadn't seen one yet.

Generac makes a 22 and a 27 liquid cooled 1800 rpm

Is there any advantage to liquid cooling over air in a stationary generator? Longer service life perhaps?

Seems to me, it would just add more maintenance.

For people prone to lots of long outages a liquid cooled 1800 rpm is the way to go.

For those like me with only occasional 12-24 hr outages maybe once a year, air cooled 3600 rpm is fine.

Lots more maintenance on liquid cooled, as there basically an automotive engine. More sensors to cause issues. Harder to find maintenance service.

I service air cooled, but dont mess with liquid cooled. Ill install them, but not qualified to service them. Heck, i dont even work on my own car….i even have dealer change oil.

If you go with a 3600 rpm liquid cooled… better be far from the house. There way way more noisy than any 22 kw air cooled running same rpm.

I installed a 27 kw 1800 unit for a customer about 5 years ago. Man, what a quiet unit compared to my 22 kw. But it has continual, occasional, issues with liquid level sensor in radiator. If it gets even the slightest layer of gunk on it, unit fails. Easy to fix, but if it was mine id find a way to bypass that thing.

I'd take that sensor out and put it in a small container of clean antifreeze and plug the hole it came out of. lol

Sounds expensive.
Yes, well maybe....if the power goes out in June rain storm, yep, expensive. But if it happens during a January blizzard, it would be nice to have.

That’s exactly what i would do if it was mine
