that is weird....all my B&S equipment manuals have a good parts breakdown. even list spark plug type and gap in the specification page

Very odd indeed. My old/smaller B&S, yep, plug listed clearly in the Owner's Manual. Can't ever remember having this issue, with any other small engine.

The newer 7kw, lists the plug gap in the Owner's Manual, then says "See Specifications for plug type". Nothing listed in the Specifications section.

Shouldn't be rocket-science to get this info..... but it just fell through the cracks I guess.

There will be a B&S Engine# labelled on the engine itself; all else fails I'll look it up that way. Not a fan of pulling a working plug, w/o a known-good spare at hand....

I won't be surprised if I get a response "RJ19LM" from B&S. But, if I don't check......

Lost power about 30 min ago...

Generator is running like a champ. Ive received a bunch of calls from my customers thanking me for generator.

Like happy customers.. it’s snowing and cold outside

When you have a good guy like you are the smart people know how you should be treated...

It is like the jobs I would let for the hospital... once the contract was approved and signed I did whatever I could to be helpful... often it was running interference from those who might be inconvenienced… no matter how small.

4 hours later power still out. Generator is purring along. Whole area I really dark. 10,000 without power. My house is all lit up.

Been out moving snow. Have received 24” since yesterday morning. Also powered up the portable to loan to neighbor.

When we had the 30+ hour PSPS outages here in the Bay Area recently there was a lot of the have and have not going around... akin to survivor's guilt...

Even though I had Mom all wired with a transfer switch with 6 circuits I decided not to press the issue since 7 neighborhood refrigerators/freezers where now being powered from my Honda 5000 and I did not have to lift a finger for fuel or maintenance and it was in the best of hands with my retired neighbor...

I too set up a Champion 3500 for one of my tenants... took about 2 hours to retrieve and set up... they were most appreciative but when I asked how many hours they used it he said right after I left they discussed it and said it was too much and left for the in-laws who had power...

In both cases besides generating electricity I generated a lot of good Karma or so I tell myself!

Generators here performed well over 20 hour outage. Annoyed with manual transfer switch behind automatic switch. As fast as you can flip it, to switch to another generator or inverter) it won't stop all kinds of electronics from resetting. That doesn't happen with the Auto ASCO switch.

If your world is all wonderful and everything works as normal during an outage, of what use is that if you have to start farting around at an unprepared neighbors? Just sayin. Neighbors with sump pump issues, frozen water lines and so forth. I thought the purpose of having a good generating system was to take a HOT shower, relax and watch a movie while the mayhem unfolds in the world outside. lol

Just think you could get sync scopes adjustable voltage regulators and throttle trimmers, then make before break switches and really go to town.
Would be nice with multiple sources, or break down and get a whole house interactive UPS.
It would be nice if manufactures would do some time/date and setup backups and memory in stuff.

It's nice to have totally seperate systems that work together (when that works) or seperately without issue. Otherwise it's just another technology trap that will getcha at the worst time. Maybe it's age. But managing loads, generators and various buildings, it's EASY to get befuddled and make a mistake. Today, I'm taking a shower and realize the water is getting slower and slower and figured (correctly so) that I had shut off the pump, because I wanted to heat my storage room in the barn for a little while yesterday during the outage, and was worried about load.

Keep those generators happy, you never know when they'll be needed.....

Big dump of rain lately (unusual for January), and my neigbour ended up with water in her basement. Grid was up, but her sump pump couldn't keep up with the volume of water coming in. I talk with her fairly often, will touch base on the insurance work going on...... one of her grandsons is a local plumber..... obviously she needs an upgraded pump and/or a high-volume 12v backup pump as well.....

^ that reality (around here....) is one big factor in why I keep both my portable generators fully fueled at all times... fast rising ground water is no fun at all......

Yeah our basement (dig in 1874) gets water in it. So having the sump on the generator panel was a must.

Thinking about a second pump. I do have a portable one but I don稚 think it pumps enough volume to work as the primary. In a situation where the primary pump could not keep up it is a good extra pump.
